Disruptive Technology is part of the EDF Evaluation Matrix for our design. It deals with Consumption Peak Smoothing and Cultural Acceptance.
Consumption Peak Smoothing

By providing water during those seasons where water might be scarce and allowing the collection of water in arid environments, a D.R.I.P.S. system eliminates some of the extreme fluctuations in water availability  currently experienced in many environments today.
Cultural Acceptance

How D.R.I.P.S. technology can be used is easily demonstrated through a simple pictogram. Without the need for verbal or written instructions, it’s simple installation method can be immediately understood by people of all cultures and ages. Cheap to produce, D.R.I.P.S. provides a desirable service that is  valuable to the communities where it is implemented.
Conclusion
D.R.I.P.S. provides a cheap, desirable and easy to use solution to a problem faced by many communities of people around the world.
